**Community Unites for ‘Operation: Cozy’ As Winter Approaches**

DETROIT, MI — As temperatures begin to plummet, the spirit of giving shines brightly in Metro Detroit. Local 4, in partnership with the Center For Youth and Families, is set to host “Operation: Cozy” on November 12, 2025, a one-day winter clothing drive aimed at providing essential warmth to those in need.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kadesh Baptist Church on Plymouth Road, community members are encouraged to donate new or gently used winter clothing. The call is clear: winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves are crucial for the well-being of children and adults as harsh winter months approach.

“This event is all about community connection,” said event organizer Sarah Johnson of Local 4. “We’re coming together to ensure that no one has to face the cold unprepared. A simple coat or a warm pair of gloves can make a world of difference for families struggling to stay warm during the winter season.”

The initiative aims not only to collect clothing but also to raise awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by many in the area. With the growing economic strain on families, events like Operation: Cozy are more vital than ever. “It’s not just about giving; it’s about building a supportive network within our community,” remarked George Thompson, director of the Center For Youth and Families.

As families dig through closets to contribute, volunteers will be on hand to assist in collecting, sorting, and distributing donations. Past events have shown just how generous the Metro Detroit community can be, and this year promises to be even more impactful.

The holiday season is just around the corner, and with Operation: Cozy, Metro Detroiters have a chance to make the winter a little warmer for everyone.
