The Recording Academy has been honoring Reggae since 1985 which saw the category ‘Best Reggae Album’ list 5 nominees: Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, Peter Tosh and Yellowman. That year Black Uhuru took home the honor.

Shaggy Heads to Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival

Diamond-selling Reggae star Shaggy is heading to Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival.

Recently releasing collaborations with Kes, TeeJay and Skinny Fabulous, Shaggy heads to the twin republic with his Soca EP entitled ‘In The Mood.’ The artists foray into the high-energy genre has been well received by fans and radio presenters alike.

Slated for performances and appearances, Shaggy will appear with Kes at Tuesday On The Rocks in Port of Spain. Follow Shaggy for more updates @direalshaggy

The Inaugural Island Music Conference

The Inaugural Island Music Conference (IMC) begins Wednesday February 8th with a stellar lineup of music professionals. IMC is an Island meeting place where music professionals share experiences, forge alliances, expand knowledge base, expose new music and talent, and connect with the heartbeat of the global industry.

IMC content is geared towards Caribbean growth in the international music industry and helping participants navigate and overcome challenges.
