Country Radio DJ Gerry House Quits After 30 Years

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Radio personality Gerry House has quit WSIX-FM after 30 years in country music radio. The House Foundation morning show will end Dec. 15.”After a long and painful consideration, we are leaving the air,” House said Friday morning on the show. “Some folks will remain; Mike (Bohan) and I are going off the air on WSIX Dec. 15.”House declined interviews Friday, but his sidekick and friend of 15 years shared a little of the “why now?”It kind of feels like it’s time to move on to other things, and it was really Gerry’s decision to do that,” Bohan told Channel 4 News. “There were no forces at work or anything else; he felt it was the right time, and he’s got a hundred other things that he wants to work on.
