CUMULUS MEDIA announces that Kiss 103.1/WLXC-FM, Columbia’s Best Variety of R&B, will debut a new weekday programming lineup today. The Urban AC-formatted radio station kicks off mornings with its new morning wake-up, The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, which airs Monday through Friday from 6:00am-10:00am.
Dee Dee Renee follows from 10:00am-1:00pm, with Chris Connors from 1:00pm-3:00pm. A second new addition to the Kiss 103.1 slate is The D.L. Hughley Show, which takes Afternoon Drive from 3:00pm-7:00pm, followed by Johnny Green from 7:00pm-Midnight. Both of the radio station ’s two new weekday shows, The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and The D.L. Hughley Show, are syndicated nationally by Reach Media.
The Rickey Smiley Morning Show is hosted by nationally renowned standup comedian Rickey Smiley, with an ensemble cast including: Da Brat, Gary With Da Tea, Special K, and Rock-T. The program effectively blends Smiley’s Southern appeal with raw humor and personal authenticity as a community activist passionate about issues that concern the community.
Guests range from pundits and lifestyle experts to athletes and entertainers. Featuring listener interaction, music, information and entertainment, The Rickey Smiley Morning Show is nationally syndicated by Reach Media.
The D.L. Hughley Show is hosted by D.L. Hughley, and features co-host Jasmine Sanders. Hughley, one of the most popular and highly recognized standup comedians on the road today, mixes his trademark quick wit with great music in a show that is fast-paced, funny and topical. Hughley has also made his mark in television and film, and stars in his 5th stand-up comedy special “Reset” which is currently airing on Showtime.
In addition, his first humorous book title, I Want You to Shut the F*ck Up, is out in bookstores. He also created and starred in the satirical documentary special for Comedy Central, “D.L. Hughley: The Endangered List” and is a part of the groundbreaking “Black and Brown Comedy Get Down” tour.
