Darren Criss & Renée Elise Goldsberry Host “The Tony Awards: Act One”

First-time Tony Award® nominee Darren Criss and Tony and Grammy Award® winner Renée Elise Goldsberry will host THE TONY AWARDS: ACT ONE, a live pre-show featuring exclusive content available for free on Pluto TV, the leading free streaming television service. The pre-show will air on Sunday, June 8, from 6:40 to 8:00 PM ET / 3:40 to 5:00 PM PT.

The Tony Awards Act One

Darren Criss received his first Tony nomination this year for his role as Oliver in Maybe Happy Ending, while Goldsberry won a Tony Award for originating Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton. Her debut album, Who I Really Am, is also set for release this June. Together, they will kick off Broadway’s biggest night by presenting the first round of Tony Awards during this exciting pre-show telecast.

Viewers can watch THE TONY AWARDS: ACT ONE on smart TVs, streaming devices, mobile apps, or online by accessing Pluto TV and selecting the “Live Music” channel, located under the Entertainment category.

Immediately following the pre-show, the 78TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS will air live coast-to-coast from 8:00 to 11:00 PM ET / 5:00 to 8:00 PM PT on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.* This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Tony®, Emmy®, and Grammy® Award winner and three-time Oscar® nominee Cynthia Erivo. The event will return to the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The Tony Awards are produced through a collaboration of Tony Award Productions, a joint venture between the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, alongside White Cherry Entertainment. Executive producers and showrunners Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss lead White Cherry Entertainment, with Weiss also serving as director. The Tony Awards have been broadcast on CBS since 1978.
