DETROIT – The dazzling creativity of a fifth-grader from Detroit took center stage during the 2025 America’s Thanksgiving Parade, presented by Gardner White. As thousands gathered along Woodward Avenue to witness the festive spectacle, one float stood out, embodying the spirit of the holiday season and the imagination of youth.
The float, designed by 10-year-old Mia Johnson, featured vibrant colors, whimsical designs, and a heartfelt message of gratitude, capturing the essence of Thanksgiving. “I wanted my float to show how thankful we are for our families and friends,” Mia said, beaming with pride. “It was so fun to see it all come to life!”
As the parade progressed, cheers erupted from the crowd, with Mia’s float receiving a rousing ovation. Families waved their hands, and children danced in excitement as the float, adorned with handmade decorations, rolled by. “This is what Thanksgiving is all about—community, joy, and coming together,” said parade attendee Mark Thompson.
Kevin Ross, known for his artistic flair, expressed his admiration for Mia’s creativity, stating, “When our youth engage in such beautiful expressions, it truly reflects the heart of this city and its future.” The float not only showcased artistic talent but also highlighted the importance of supporting local youth initiatives and community events.
