Disturbing video captures the tragic moment when a car, desperate to evade a pursuing State Trooper, collided with another vehicle in Minneapolis on Friday, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of five Somali women’s lives.
The footage unveils the devastating incident involving Derrick John Thompson, a 27-year-old individual who forcefully crashed into the car carrying Sabiriin Ali, 17, Sahra Gesaade, 20, Salma Abdikadir, 20, Sagal Hersi, 19, and Siham Adam, 19.
The young women had been engaged in last-minute shopping at a Minneapolis mall on Friday and were in the process of having tattoos done for a friend’s wedding the following day. Tragically, as they were returning home, Thompson recklessly ran a red light and collided with their vehicle in his SUV, traveling at an alarming speed of approximately 95mph—40 miles beyond the designated 55mph speed limit, as confirmed by public officials.
Following the collision, Thompson managed to survive and hastily abandoned his vehicle, fleeing on foot to seek refuge at a nearby Taco Bell establishment. However, law enforcement authorities eventually located him and apprehended him at the fast-food restaurant. Subsequently, he was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
