After Hours, the new record label from Drai’s Entertainment, Turn First Artists and Capitol Records will be the first recording label of its kind to be based on the iconic Las Vegas Strip, while drawing upon the three highly successful business models of its partners: Turn First’s hands-on management; A&R and elevation expertise; Capitol’s A&R, product marketing and industry skills and Drai’s world renowned venue prestige.
After Hours will offer a bespoke 360 degree service for their artist: a residency in one of Las Vegas’ most illustrious performance spaces, the new Drai’s Beach Club • Nightclub at The Cromwell Hotel & Casino, and access to a participating network of equally eminent venues, including Drai’s After Hours and Liaison Nightclub, alongside a recording contract, complete artist development and the very best A&R consultancy. “With all of our clubs and venues open literally at the center of the Las Vegas Strip – Drai’s Beach Club • Nightclub, After Hours and Liaison – we are immersed in edm culture,” states Victor Drai.
“We have created the most spectacular venues to feature artists nightly in front of thousands of guests from around the globe. Having a record label is the next logical step for Drai’s Enterprises. We are looking forward to discovering and showcasing the next generation of music.
“The brand founders boast industry success stories as far back as the 1970s. Victor Drai is one of Las Vegas’ most enterprising individuals whose venues and ventures have consistently won critical acclaim along with their commercial success. Sarah Stennett, CEO of Turn First Artists, has the acute ability to identify talent at the earliest stages having developed the careers of Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Jessie J and many more.
Capitol Chairman & CEO Steve Barnett has revolutionized the repertoires, reputation and revenue of every label he has worked with, whilst Duncan King has an unrivalled record as a label manager having developed Deadmau5’s Mau5trap imprint before going on to work for AEI Media, the brand and content curator powerhouse behind UKF amongst others. “We all share a unique vision to launch the first dance label on the strip in Vegas,” explains Sarah Stennett. “We have a unique platform to break and develop talented dj producers.
The artists who work with us will be developed with a unique opportunity to dj as a resident at one of the most exciting clubs in the world. These artists will be able to release through a label that has the clout of a major and the bespoke services of a fast moving independent dance label. The core team is hugely ambitious and experienced and the infrastructure we have set up around the label will yield very significant early successes.
“With offices in Las Vegas, London, New York and Los Angeles, After Hours will enjoy a global viewpoint of the edm sphere. The label offers the scale of a major but with the flexibility to react to fast-paced market requirements. Complete with full management team and a live network of award-winning venues across the US, After Hours will lify the artists’ music and brand beyond conventional streams, strategically building DJs’ live careers on a global platform.
“All of us at Capitol are very excited about After Hours and our partnerships with Turn First Artists and Drai’s Entertainment,” Barnett elaborates. “With Drai’s providing our joint venture with an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind nightclub venue in Las Vegas, we have an exciting platform from which to accelerate the careers of artists in the edm realm and share their talents with audiences around the world. “
