B.B. KING BLUES CLUB & GRILL, named after the celebrated “king of the blues” himself and ideally situated in New York’s bustling Times Square, is pleased to announce a series of exciting upcoming shows
. All shows start at 8:00 pm, doors open at 6:00 pm unless otherwise noted. Reggae fans rejoice as B.B. King Blues Club & Grill will be getting its fair share of Jamaican dance music.
On June 11th, WBLS Presents: SHAGGY, MORGAN HERITAGE, RAYVON, WAYNE WONDER, MR VEGAS and more ($30.00 in advance, $35.00 day of show) will perform at B.B. King’s as a part of their Reggae Bash.
All five artists have redefined the reggae genre for the past decade. One major performer in line who is best known for his humorous and politically driven music, Alpha Blondy ($30.00 in advance, $35.00 day of show) will be taking the stage on July 2nd. Alpha Blondy was awarded a Golden Disc in the UK for his hit single “Rendez Vous” which sold over 400,000 copies.
Jamaican native and second generation singer, Luciano ($25.00 in advance, $30.00 day of show) will perform live on July 10th. His achievements include a #1 Reggae hit song in the UK, “Shake it Up Tonight” as well as a Grammy nomination for his record “A New Day.” Reggae lovers will also be pleased to hear that The Original Wailers (20.00 in advance, $25.00 day of show) will be stopping by on August 17th.
This Grammy nominated band, led by Al Anderson, is best known for their work with Bob Marley. They have also collaborated with legends such as Stevie Wonder, James Brown, and The Rolling Stones among others. R&B and Hip-Hop lovers have several reasons to check out B.B. King’s line-up in the coming weeks.
Three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Wyclef Jean – The Carnival Begins: produced by Jill Newman Productions ($39.50 in advance, $45.00 day of show) will hit the stage on June 19. His musical breakthrough occurred from his membership in The Fugees, the three-member group that included Lauryn Hill and Prakazrel Michel.
The next night, (FOR MORE B.B KINGS NEWS CLICK NEXT) Amel Larrieux produced by Jill Newman Productions & Blisslife (founding member of the duo Groove Theory) takes the stage to perform her Soul & R&B hits such as “Weary”, “If I Were A Bell” and “For Real” ($35.00 in advance, $40 day of show).
Best selling recording artists and brothers K-CI & JOJO ($32.50 in advance, $38.00 day of show) will bring their talents to B.B. King’s on June 24th. The R&B duo has graced the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard R&B charts with hits including “Crazy” and “All My Life”. On June 28th, Grammy nominated R&B singer and record producer Joe ($36.50 in advance, $40.00 day of show) will perform at B.B. King’s.
Joe first came into the limelight due in part to his 1997 Platinum album All That I Am.- Rock and Roll is heading to B.B. King’s this June with special performances by several rock bands. First, on June 12th American blues rock and electric blues singer-songwriter Delbert McClinton ($45.00 in advance, $50.00 day of show) will rock the stage.
Delbert has recorded major record label albums and charted singles on the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Rock Tracks, and Hot Country Songs charts. American rock band known predominantly for their psychedelic renditions of popular songs, Vanilla Fudge: Farewell Tour ($30.00 in advance, $35.00 day of show) will perform live at B.B. King’s on two separate dates.
Their farewell tour will comprise of the band’s original members: Carmine Appice, Vince Martell, and Mark Stein, also joined by Pete Bremy. Scottish hard rock quartet, Nazareth ($30.00 in advance, $35.00 day of show) will take the stage at B.B. King’s on June 25th. The band, founded in 1968, has had several top hits in the UK and later establi40 in advance, $42.50 day of show.
Both Buffets are all-you-can-eat featuring a robust menu of American and Southern American classics, such as Sliced Baked Yams with Pecans and Maple Syrup, Aged Cheddar Baked Macaroni & Cheese, Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Jambalaya and Fruit Cobbler, among many other options.On June 2nd, B.B.
King’s is pleased to announce Give an Hour ($50.00 general admission), “A Celebration of Service – Honoring Our Military Men and Women and Those Who Serve Them”. The event will feature performances by Little Big Band with Mark Rivera, long-time member of the Billy Joel Band and Ringo Starr’s music director as well as American Idol Winner Kris Allen, Jonathan Batiste, Danielle Peck, Gloria Reuben, The 9th, and The Secret State.
All proceeds will go directly to Give an Hour, the national non-profit organization providing free mental health services to members of the military, veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, their loved ones, and their communities. Lucille’s hosts Groove Buffet, a classic Motown and R&B tribute performance, every Sunday at 7:00 and 9:30 pm; and B. B.
King Blues Club All-Stars featuring the Harlem Blues Project, New York’s #1 Blues Band, every Tuesday night at 9:30 and 11:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for both shows.
