Radio One Makes Statement about the Lawsuit

Feleg Abraham aka “Shorty Mac” a former female radio Radio DJ with Radio One in Atlanta has filed a lawsuit against Radio One naming Hurricane Dave Smith for Sexual Harassment. In the lawsuit, she states she was the victim of repeated harassment by Smith who was terminated from the company last week.Karen Wishart, executive Vice president, and chief administrative officer for Urban One released a statement today saying: “The allegations made by Feleg Abraham against Dave Smith, both former employees of Urban One, are unsettling. As a company founded by an African-American woman with a long history of empowering women in the workplace, Urban One takes these allegations very seriously. After Ms. Abraham left Urban One to take a new job, we were notified of her complaint and conducted a thorough, independent investigation. In light of the ongoing litigation, we cannot provide further comment on this matter.”Hurricane Dave told TheIndustry.biz today that he categorically denies the allegations.Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal and Constitution broke the story today and gives more detail about the allegations here
