FSU Students Achieve Truist Emerging Leaders Certification

Twenty-five undergraduate and graduate students from
Fayetteville State University (FSU) became the newest Truist Emerging Leaders
from the Broadwell College of Business & Economics. These scholars
completed two half-days of virtual training to earn Truist Emerging Leaders
Certifications. They join the ranks of approximately 10,000 undergraduate and
graduate students who hold this credential. Once earned, students can add the
Emerging Leaders Certification to their resumes and LinkedIn profiles. Truist
values this in-kind corporate gift of training at $12,000 per delivery, and
Fayetteville State University is one of Truist Leadership Institute’s
university partners where this certification training is offered.

The
Truist Emerging Leaders Certification (ELC) program is a highly interactive
certification program for college and university students, which focuses on
self-awareness to lead others more effectively. Students learn about the
beliefs driving their leadership behaviors – both positive and negative – and
develop a better understanding of their personal strengths and weaknesses. The
curriculum also highlights the relationships between beliefs, motivation,
behaviors, and results. After completing the program, students are equipped
with practical tools and strategies to overcome leadership shortcomings
discovered during the sessions and become better leaders.

“We’re
excited about the incredible opportunity we have through the Truist Emerging
Leaders Certification program to cultivate and empower our next generation of
leaders,” said Brittany Brown, Vice President and Student Leadership Programs
manager for Truist Leadership Institute. “At Truist Leadership Institute, we
don’t settle for the notion of a ‘born leader.’ We believe anyone can develop
better leadership skills with commitment and self-awareness.”
