VuHaus Group has appointed Geary Yonker as the new Sponsorship Director. With extensive experience in public radio sponsorship sales, Yonker will lead national sales efforts for VuHaus Group’s affiliates and public radio music stations. He will also oversee the NPR Music Live Sessions platform.
Board Chairman Roger LaMay expressed excitement about Yonker’s addition, recognizing his proven success in the industry. Yonker, who brings a wealth of experience from his fifteen years at WBEZ Chicago, where he led national sales for major public media programs such as This American Life and Serial, is eager to drive innovation and revenue in the public radio sector. He has also been instrumental in the launch of the Vocalo “Urban Alternative” radio format and was a pioneer in developing WBEZ’s first digital sales strategies.
Beyond his public radio work, Yonker has organized a three-day art and music festival in Chicago, which has attracted over 500,000 attendees since 2009. His commitment to public media remains strong, having regularly served as an on-air host during WBEZ’s membership drives. Yonker continues his role as Business Development Manager for Sound Opinions, a position he has held since 2010.
With this new role at VuHaus Group, Yonker aims to enhance the public radio music experience, providing non-commercial stations with the tools they need to thrive in a competitive landscape.
