Gibson Releases Theodore Standard Worldwide

As it celebrates 130 years of music history, Gibson, the iconic global instrument brand, has shaped sound across generations and genres of music for over a century, becoming one of the most relevant, played, and loved music brands around the world.

Gibson Releases Theodore Standard Worldwide

Developed from original drawings discovered in the Gibson Archives, the Gibson Theodore Standard is based on a guitar design sketched in 1957 and was only previously available as a limited edition Gibson Custom model that quickly sold out in 2022 as part of the Gibson Archive Collection.

Today, 67 years later, Gibson is proud to introduce the Theodore Standard, now available as a global wide release at authorized Gibson dealers and via www.gibson.com.

It’s not every day that Gibson releases a new body shape. Inspired by original drawings from 1957-during the same era when the legendary ES-335, Flying V™, and Explorer™ models were designed to modernize the Gibson product lineup-the Gibson Theodore Standard features a mahogany body, scimitar headstock with Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, and striking double Florentine cutaways that provide unimpeded access to all 22 frets on the rosewood-capped, SlimTaper™ mahogany neck

The balanced construction is exceptionally comfortable, and the powerful ‘57 Classic™ and ‘57 Classic Plus humbucker™ pickups produce effortless sustain and a rich diversity of tones.

While it was sketched in the 1950s, the Gibson Theodore Standard is fresh and modern today, and the instrument’s light weight, balance, and comfort make it a joy to play. The Gibson Theodore Standard is available worldwide in Antique Natural, Vintage Cherry, and Ebony. A hard<a href="shell case is also included.
