Glen Macready Honored in Marquis Who’s Who for Music Industry Excellence

Another industry veteran just got the nod. Glen Macready’s been recognized in Marquis Who’s Who for his impact on artist development and production.

Glen Macready has recently been included in the latest edition of Marquis Who’s Who, a prestigious acknowledgment of individuals who have made significant contributions in their fields. The selection process considers factors such as professional prominence, noteworthy achievements, and visibility, underscoring Macready’s long-standing influence in the music industry.

With decades of experience, Macready has built a remarkable career as a songwriter, producer, and engineer. He is best known as the founder of Decompression Studios, which he established in 2004. Since then, he has earned recognition for his ability to guide artists in achieving optimal sound quality. Macready’s meticulous approach involves reviewing mixes and making precise enhancements, like lowering bass frequencies and bringing out vocal clarity. His collaborative projects have led to several critically acclaimed records.

His partnership with award-winning flamenco guitarist Gareth Koch has yielded notable results, including the co-production of the 2019 album “Chrysae Planitia,” released under Foghorn Records. Macready also took on the role of executive producer for Koch’s subsequent project, “Songs from Another Life,” further solidifying his reputation as an expert in music production.

Before his studio career, Macready honed his skills in graphic arts at Golden Impressions and also gained experience in publishing and graphics. His earlier days as a professional musician laid the groundwork for his creative innovations in the industry. Raised in a family of artisans, he was exposed to the arts at an early age, learning the value of craftsmanship from his grandmother, who wove for Hollywood productions.

Notably, Macready contributed to the recognition of James Lawrence and Teletronix during their induction into the Technology Hall of Fame by compiling biographies for the Audio Engineering Society. This experience provided the impetus to formalize his studio work.

In addition to his artistic endeavors, Macready has been engaged in political activism and has authored significant policy papers aimed at various social issues, including water transportation proposals shared at high governmental levels. He also dedicates time to volunteer work, particularly supporting veterans in securing employment opportunities.

Macready emphasizes the importance of fostering creativity through collaboration and is committed to giving back to the community. He’s a devoted family man, living with his wife and three daughters, and finds joy in collecting art and appreciating architecture. Throughout his journey, he’s focused on listening to diverse voices within the industry, believing that originality can arise from the most unexpected sources.
