Homeowner Recovers Stolen Luxury Cars Using GPS Tracker (Video)

Carjacking Incident

A brazen carjacking incident occurred at a South Florida home early Thursday morning. Thieves smashed through the front gate of a Westchester residence and stole two luxury Mercedes vehicles. The incident, captured on home surveillance video, shows the suspects crashing through the gate, causing a loud noise that the homeowner’s daughter initially mistook for lightning.

Theft Execution

The video reveals two thieves backing up a car to the front gate, jumping over it, and driving off with the cars within minutes. The thieves were able to start the vehicles easily because the keys were left inside.

Recovery of Vehicles

Fortunately, the homeowner, identified as George, was able to recover both vehicles quickly. One car was found near Oakland Park Boulevard and I-95, while the other was located near I-95 and State Road 112. The crooks had attempted to disable the factory GPS systems in the cars, but George had his own GPS tracking system installed, which enabled him to track and disable the vehicles while they were being driven.

Damages and Rewards

The carjacking caused significant damage, including two broken gates and damages to the cars, amounting to approximately $35,000. George is now offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the suspects. He emphasized the importance of not leaving keys in vehicles and is determined to see the thieves caught.

Public Appeal

Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. George hopes this appeal will help prevent future incidents and bring the criminals to justice.
