HOT 97, New York’s #1 Hip-Hop and R&B Station, 98.7 KISS FM, The Best Variety of 80’s, 90’s and Today’s R&B and Rock 101.9 RXP are joining arms with The Salvation Army and local ambassadors as they race for community causes during the 2010 New York City Marathon on November 7, 2010.   The three New York radio giants recruited the help of station DJs and local listeners to help raise money for the Salvation Army and their staple programs.

While food banks are running low and necessary supplies are scaling short, The Salvation Army is working hard to continue to run over 13 locations serving hot meals and 20 locations distributing food packages and grocery vouchers, so HOT 97’s ambassador, Mike McConnell, is taking charge to raise money to continue to fight hunger.

The Salvation Army also provides family shelters to women and children fleeing abusive situations along with providing housing placement, job training and donations and KISS FM’s ambassador, Wilma Hubbard, will be stepping towards beating out domestic violence.

In the midst of a year with the most music and after school programs closing, each week, The Salvation Army provides 875 classes in music, drama, dance and other creative arts and Rock 101.9 RXP on-air personality, Brian D’Aurelio from “From the Basement with Brian and Chris,“ is racing ahead to raise money for music and creative arts programs in schools

To take the step and help HOT 97, KISS FM and 101.9 RXP finish the race, help raise the bar and raise funds, log on to www.HOT97.com, www.987KISSFM.com and www.1019RXP.com between now and November 7, or text the keywords “HOT”, “KISSFM”, or “RXP””to 52000 to automatically donate $10.
