On June 8, Huston-Tillotson University accounting students traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend the NABA National Convention and Expo. At the Annual Scholarship Luncheon, Grace Nolitse, Mirabel Awoniyi, Moya Reid, Pearl Brian-Esema, and Mpho Lethoba were awarded scholarships and Big Four internships.
In addition to the national individual awards, the Huston-Tillotson University NABA Chapter was again selected as the Western Regional Chapter of the Year.
The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) is a non-profit membership association dedicated to bridging the opportunity gap for people of color in the Accounting, Finance, Consulting, Information Technology, and other business related professions.
“At Huston-Tillotson University we strive to create the leaders of tomorrow through education and service. We are so proud of our students’ work and the leadership of the chapter’s academic advisor, Ms. Alison Buchanan. We can’t wait to see the great work the chapter will continue to do on campus and in our community,” said University President and CEO Colette Pierce Burnette.
Congratulations to our students, as they continue to prove that once again, they are truly members of the genius generation!
