iHeartMedia Miami’s BIG 105.9, South Florida’s Classic Rock, announced today that the second annual “Paul Castronovo’s 50-50 Draw in Support of Farm Share” on December 11 raised over $188,000 to benefit Farm Share, Florida’s largest food bank.
Paul Castronovo’s 50-50 Draw in Support of Farm Share featured Big 105.9 on-air personalities, led by iconic morning show host Paul Castronovo encouraging listeners to go online and buy tickets to the 50-50 draw. One listener would win half the jackpot, with the other half going to Farm Share to help feed people in South Florida. On Monday morning, Josh Wells, a local firefighter, won the draw and took home a check for more than $94,000.
The funds raised by this raffle will allow Farm Share to distribute more than 750,000 meals to food-insecure individuals and families across Florida.
“As the holidays draw near, it’s important to unite in our efforts to ensure no Floridian faces hunger,” said Stephen Shelley, President and CEO of Farm Share. “The 50/50 raffle was a perfect opportunity for the community to come together, participate and make a difference in the fight against food insecurity.”
“Once again, the Big 105.9 audience shows up to help South Florida. Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket. Josh, you owe me a beer!” said Paul Castronovo.
Last year Big 105.9 raised over $122,000 with the first edition of the “Paul Castronovo’s 50-50 Draw in Support of Farm Share.”
