iHeartMedia Philadelphia’s 105.3 WDAS FM, Power 99, and Rumba 106.1 are proud to announce the eighth annual “Sista Strut” breast cancer walk, happening Saturday, June 21 at the Wells Fargo Center parking lot, starting at 8 a.m. This inspiring event supports the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and raises vital awareness about breast cancer, especially among women of color.
Research shows African American women face higher risks of developing breast cancer at younger ages. “Sista Strut” is more than just a walk — it’s a powerful movement highlighting the importance of early screenings and community support. It honors survivors, their families, and everyone touched by this disease.
This year, beloved personalities from the stations — including Frankie Darcell, Patty Jackson, Mimi Brown, Loraine Ballard Morrill, Roxy Romeo, Cappuchino, and Johanny — will be on-site to energize the crowd and share important health information.
Derrick Corbett, iHeartMedia Philadelphia’s Senior VP of Programming, says, “Sista Strut is about strength, sisterhood, and survival. We’re committed to standing with women and families impacted by breast cancer, especially in communities of color where awareness can save lives.”
AACR CEO Margaret Foti adds, “We’re honored to partner again to spotlight the critical role of breast cancer screening and treatment in Philadelphia.”
Fans and listeners are encouraged to join the movement by sharing their photos and videos on social media using #cantstopthestrut. To register or learn more, visit the event page.
As Philadelphia’s leading media outlet, iHeartMedia connects communities through its broadcast stations, live events, and digital platforms — including iHeartRadio, the all-in-one music, podcast, and streaming app available across thousands of devices.
Join us on June 21 to walk with purpose, power, and pride. Together, we can make a difference.
