iHeartMedia Boston’s 101.7 The Bull, iHeartMedia Portsmouth’s 95.3 The Bull and iHeartMedia Springfield’s KIX 100.9 announced today that its annual “iHeart Country Cares for St. Jude Kids” radiothon raised $478,458 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the leading children’s hospital pioneering research and treatments for kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
“iHeart Country Cares for St. Jude Kids” was hosted locally by 101.7 The Bull’s on-air personalities Colton Bradford, Amanda Jo Parker and Jessica Callahan along with KIX 100.9’s Perez. The broadcast aired across all three radio stations on Thursday, December 3 and Friday, December 4 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and it featured St. Jude patients and their families. Listeners were encouraged to call in, text or go to http://thebull1017.com/give to become a St. Jude Partner In Hope, a program where donors make $19 monthly donations to St. Jude.
“In a year full of uncertainty, we’re thankful for our listeners’ continued dedication to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said Dylan Sprague, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Boston. “The amazing efforts of our staff would fall short without the generosity of our audience. I’m proud of this team and the great work that they do.”
“We are so grateful for our partnership with 101.7 The Bull, KIX 100.9 and 95.3 The Bull,” said Joe Durkin, New England Regional Executive Director for ALSAC/St. Jude. “Through this two-day radiothon, these stations continue to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding Cures. Saving Children®.”
Over the past five years, 101.7 The Bull has raised over $2.2 million to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and was named the 2019 St. Jude Partner Station of the Year along with sister station 95.3 The Bull.
