New international production banner Studio Galazio has announced that its first project, an international heist comedy set on Mykonos, has wrapped principal photography on the glamorous Greek island. The film tells the story of a rag tag band of noble thieves who steal from the boorish elite tourists that destroy their island home each summer.
The film features an international ensemble cast led by rising Greek actress Klelia Andriolatou (Netflix’s Maestro in Blue) and newcomer Andrew Georgiades with Riccardo Scamarcio (Lionsgate’s John Wick 2), Vito Schnabel (The Trainer) and Julia Fox (A24’s Uncut Gems).
They are supported by Panos Koronis (Apple’s The Lost Daughter), Makis Papadimitriou (IFC’s Suntan), Yorgos Pirpassopoulos (Neon’s Crimes of the Future) Maria Kavoyianni (Netflix’s Maestro in Blue), Alan Asaad (Netflix’s Black Mirror) and Christos Passalis (Kino Lorber’s Dogtooth).
Studio Galazio is a newly formed production entity dedicated to the creation and development of TV series and feature films with inherent Greek themes, aimed at large-scale international distribution. The studio partnered with former NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Improbable Media for Antetokounmpo’s first foray into the industry as a producer.
Studio Galazio also worked with local Greek production services company BLONDE S.A. (Apple’s Tehran) and producers, Ginevra Tamberi (previously Senior Executive at Amazon MGM Studios), Donna Bloom (HBO’s Julia) and Raphael Benoliel (Netflix’s Emily in Paris).
Galazio C.E.O. Christopher André Marks (King Otto) makes his feature directorial debut based on his original screenplay. The Writer and Director said: “It is a privilege to collaborate with such a talented international cast and crew on this film, especially as we embark on our first major project in Greece.”
AllTrack, the digital-era performing rights organization (PRO) built to serve the independent music sector, has launched a mechanical rights division. This makes AllTrack the first and only PRO in the United States to offer integrated performance and mechanical rights collection services that music creators and publishers can manage through a single platform.
While performance royalties are compensation for rightsholders when their songs are performed in public (either live or when a recording is played), mechanical royalties are compensation for rightsholders when their songs are reproduced and distributed.
Mechanical royalties are generated when music is streamed on demand, used in digital applications, downloaded, reproduced into physical products such as CDs and vinyl records, or utilized in various other means protected under copyright law. AllTrack now collects mechanical royalties on behalf of its members throughout the world, both directly and through its relationships with international sister societies.
Traditionally, independent US creators have needed to register their songs with multiple platforms and societies to collect their global mechanical royalties. In some cases, if they wished to pursue a truly independent path, certain forms of mechanicals were inaccessible altogether.
In other cases, they may have just registered with the MLC in the US, not realizing that the MLC only collects a portion of the overall mechanical royalties available to them (US interactive audio-only streaming and downloads). AllTrack solves these issues by enabling rightsholders to collect all forms of worldwide mechanical royalties through a single platform, including streaming, downloads, physical, lyrics, and any other forms protected under copyright law.
While AllTrack’s modernized platform can be used for either mechanical rights or performing rights on a standalone basis, rightsholders that use AllTrack for both rights benefit even further by: ~ Saving time and hassle by only needing to manage an account and register songs with one rights organization ~ Receiving faster, more direct payments relative to other service providers ~ Identifying and resolving conflicts more quickly ~ Unlocking powerful insights with enhanced reporting and data analytics ~ Receiving automated metadata enhancement services across both sets of rights, enabling worldwide royalties to flow properly and more efficiently
“We’re thrilled to expand our services to include mechanical rights, which typically represent a significant portion of a music creator’s publishing income,” said Hayden Bower, Founder and CEO of AllTrack. “Our integrated approach addresses the independent sector’s long-standing need for a simplified royalty collection process. AllTrack members can now receive the compensation they’re entitled to faster and more efficiently than ever before.”
The launch of this division follows AllTrack’s recent acceptance to CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers) as a rights management entity and completion of a first-of-its-kind integration with a streaming service (TIDAL), further solidifying its position in the global music rights landscape.
Creators and publishers can apply for AllTrack’s mechanical rights services starting today. Becoming a member is free, subject to meeting certain minimum streaming thresholds. To learn more, please visit alltrack.com/mechanical-rights.

Born on August 29, 1920, in Kansas City, Kansas, Charlie Parker was a game-changing American jazz saxophonist and composer. He was known as “Bird” or “Yardbird.” Parker was a key figure in bebop, a jazz style known for its fast rhythms and new chord ideas.
His amazing skills and new musical ideas made him a hero to the hipster and Beat Generation crowds. They saw him as a true artist and thinker.
Parker worked in music from 1937 to 1955, mainly as an alto saxophone player. He started playing at 11 and joined the Lincoln High School band at 14. He practiced a lot, sometimes for up to 15 hours a day.
His early career took him to the Kansas City jazz scene. There, he met legends like Count Basie and Lester Young. He later returned to the city, much improved and ready for his big career.
Early Life and Musical Influences
Charlie Parker, the jazz legend, was born on August 29, 1920, in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, where jazz thrived. His father, Charles Sr., played piano and danced, and his mother, Adelaide, worked at Western Union at night.
Parker started playing the alto saxophone at 11. By 14, he joined the Lincoln High School band. He was deeply influenced by musicians like Robert Simpson and Lester Young.
At 15, Parker left school to focus on jazz. He played with local bands and jammed with Kansas City legends. This experience helped him grow as a musician.
“Parker began playing the saxophone at age eleven and was leading a revolution in modern jazz music by age twenty.”
Rise to Prominence in the Jazz Scene
Charlie Parker’s journey to jazz legend started with early performances and collaborations. In 1938, he joined Jay McShann’s territory band, making his first professional recording. Parker moved to New York City in 1939, marking a big turning point. He pursued his music career while working odd jobs to support himself.
During this time, Parker made a musical breakthrough, creating the innovative bebop style. In 1942, he joined Earl Hines’ band, featuring Dizzy Gillespie. The musicians’ strike of 1942-1944 limited recordings, but Parker kept improving his style. He blended Midwestern rhythm with New York’s fast tempos.

A routine undercover sting operation in Gary, Indiana, took a tragic turn on Wednesday, when a 21-year-old man armed with a machete attacked an undercover police officer. The operation, set up by Gary police to investigate robberies linked to online marketplace transactions, culminated in the shooting and death of the suspect, Shahad Richmond. The incident has raised questions about the planning and execution of the sting, as well as the use of deadly force by law enforcement.
Drone Footage Reveals Tense Moments
Gary police released drone footage of the confrontation for transparency. The video captures Richmond engaging with the undercover officer, who was posing as a buyer for a PlayStation gaming console. Richmond is seen suddenly pulling out a machete and swinging it toward the officer. The situation escalated rapidly, ending when another officer intervened and fatally shot Richmond. The footage stops short of showing the moment Richmond was shot.
Police Explanation and Initial Reactions
Gary Police described the incident as an attempted robbery. According to authorities, Richmond attacked the undercover officer with what they referred to as a “machete-style weapon.” The officer reportedly sustained no severe injuries, but the encounter underscores the unpredictable nature of such sting operations. Police assert that the use of deadly force was justified, given the threat posed by Richmond.
Family Challenges Police Narrative
Richmond’s family disputes key details of the police account. His sister argued that Shahad had no intention of harming anyone and was only trying to scare the undercover officer. She claimed that the machete was sheathed at the time and that Richmond was using the handle of the weapon rather than the blade itself. Additionally, she stated that her brother did not realize he was dealing with police officers, as they allegedly failed to identify themselves during the encounter.
The family highlighted Richmond’s role as a devoted father, noting that he was selling the gaming console to support his young son and an unborn child. They expressed skepticism over the necessity of the sting operation and indicated they are considering legal action.
Expert Analysis on Undercover Operations
The incident has prompted broader discussions about the inherent dangers of undercover sting operations. Retired Rockford Police Chief Chet Epperson, after reviewing the footage, remarked on the unpredictable and high-risk nature of such tactics. Epperson emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and precautionary measures in undercover operations, particularly when there is a possibility of the suspect being armed.
He questioned whether Gary police adequately prepared for the situation, including assessing Richmond’s potential threat level before initiating the sting. Epperson’s analysis underscores the critical balance law enforcement must maintain between apprehending suspects and ensuring the safety of both officers and civilians.
Ongoing Investigation and Legal Considerations
The shooting is now under investigation by the Lake County authorities to determine whether the officers involved acted within the bounds of law enforcement protocols. Richmond’s family is also exploring legal options, potentially challenging the police account of the events and the use of lethal force.
The incident highlights the complex and often controversial nature of police operations involving undercover officers. It raises significant questions about transparency, accountability, and the use of force in law enforcement practices. Meanwhile, the family’s perspective adds a human dimension to the tragedy, focusing on Richmond’s personal struggles and his motivations for participating in the transaction.
Conclusion
The machete attack and subsequent shooting of Shahad Richmond during an undercover operation in Gary, Indiana, is a stark reminder of the risks inherent in policing and the critical need for thorough planning and oversight in such operations. As investigations continue, the incident is likely to reignite debates over law enforcement tactics, the use of deadly force, and the broader implications for police-community relations. Richmond’s family, while grieving, is seeking answers and accountability, adding further complexity to an already fraught situation.
A tragic car accident in Buckhead has left one young woman dead and shaken witnesses recounting the harrowing moments leading up to the collision. The presence of law enforcement was heavily felt at Canton Crossing following the incident. One shopper, who expressed concerns about safety, recounted a conversation with a police officer. “I came down here so I could feel safe because I live in the city. I said, ‘Is it safe to shop?’ and he said, ‘Oh yeah, everything’s okay.’”
Businesses Remain Open Amid Investigations
Despite the unsettling incident, businesses at Canton Crossing remained open during the police investigation. For many, this was the first time anything of this nature had occurred in the area. One local resident, who has frequented the shopping center for years, remarked, “This has never happened here before. Pretty scary. Hopefully, you don’t see it again.” The individual expressed a mixture of disappointment and concern about the unexpected violence disrupting the normally peaceful shopping environment.
Police Seek Answers and Accountability
Baltimore police are continuing their investigation, focusing on identifying those responsible for the gunfire and piecing together the circumstances that led to the incident. “Police are trying to find those involved in firing the shots and also trying to find out why it happened,” reported Valerie Fleming.
The event has left many customers shaken but also hopeful for swift justice and increased safety measures to ensure such an incident does not recur. Canton Crossing, a popular destination for city residents and visitors seeking a safe shopping experience, now grapples with the aftereffects of this alarming event.
In Louisville, Kentucky, a construction site turned into a dramatic rescue scene after a man found himself buried in rubble for nearly nine hours. The incident unfolded on a day already marked by tragedy for the local emergency response teams. Despite the challenges, their relentless efforts led to a life-saving conclusion that highlighted the resilience of the human spirit and the dedication of first responders.
The Accident at the Construction Site
The incident occurred at a construction site in Louisville, where the man was working near a trench. According to fire officials, the worker fell into what could have been a deadly 10- to 12-foot plunge. However, the fall itself wasn’t the only danger he faced. In an instant, the trench collapsed around him, burying him in gravel and large chunks of concrete. The material quickly created a perilous situation, with debris surrounding and pinning the man in place.
The fire chief overseeing the operation, a veteran with 24 years of experience, noted that this was unlike any trench rescue he had seen before. The sheer amount of debris, combined with the narrow confines of the trench, created a uniquely challenging scenario. The team’s primary concern became preventing additional collapses while working meticulously to free the trapped man.
A Tedious and Tense Rescue Mission
The rescue began immediately after the collapse, but it quickly became evident that heavy machinery could not be used without risking further injury to the man. Instead, the rescue crew had to rely entirely on manual labor. They dug through tons of debris by hand, transferring it away in buckets, one scoop at a time. Every move was calculated, as the trench’s instability meant that any wrong step could cause another cascade of gravel and concrete.
To ensure safety, the team focused on shoring up the sides of the trench, preventing additional debris from falling onto the trapped worker. The operation was painstakingly slow, with rescuers constantly assessing the situation to create a safe environment as they moved closer to the man.
The rescue operation played out live on local television, capturing the attention and concern of the Louisville community. Viewers watched as the hours ticked by, each moment filled with uncertainty. The man, remarkably, remained conscious throughout the ordeal, communicating with his rescuers and providing a lifeline of hope amid the tense atmosphere.
A Triumphant Conclusion
After nearly nine hours of grueling work, the rescue team achieved their goal. At approximately 8:30 p.m., the man was finally pulled to safety. The moment was met with a mix of relief and tempered celebration. For the emergency responders, this success carried added weight, as the same team had responded earlier in the week to a deadly chemical plant explosion that killed two people.
Reflecting on the event, the fire chief expressed the emotional impact of such rescues. “This is why we took this job. We want to help people,” he said. He acknowledged the stark contrast between Hollywood depictions of rescues and the reality faced by first responders, emphasizing that success is never guaranteed. Moments like this, where their efforts result in saving a life, are rare and deeply rewarding.
A Community’s Gratitude
The man, though shaken and likely in need of medical care, survived the ordeal thanks to the determination and expertise of the rescue team. Throughout the operation, he remained communicative, a crucial factor that helped guide the rescuers in their efforts. The community expressed its gratitude for the first responders, who demonstrated unwavering commitment to saving lives, even in the face of immense difficulty.
This rescue serves as a testament to the bravery and skill of Louisville’s emergency services. While the tragic events earlier in the week cast a shadow over the city, the successful rescue brought a glimmer of hope and a reminder of the resilience that defines both the responders and the community they serve.
A 64-year-old woman from Darien, Illinois, faces serious charges after an incident at a Downers Grove Panera Bread escalated into an altercation. The encounter, captured on video, has drawn widespread attention and sparked a heated conversation about hate crimes in the area.
The Incident at Panera Bread
The altercation took place on a Saturday afternoon at a Panera Bread in Downers Grove. According to reports, the situation began when Alexandra Stacy allegedly approached a 25-year-old man wearing a sweatshirt with “Palestine” printed on the back. Witnesses, including the victim’s pregnant wife, described Stacy storming up to the man unprovoked, shouting expletives and making offensive remarks. The situation escalated when Stacy attempted to douse the man with her coffee.
As the scene unfolded, the man’s wife began recording the interaction. The video shows Stacy allegedly trying to smack the phone out of the woman’s hand, further escalating the situation. The victim, a Palestinian-American, later described the incident as entirely unprovoked, stating he and his wife had been enjoying a casual lunch when the altercation occurred.
Hate Crime Charges Filed
Following the incident, Alexandra Stacy was arrested and charged with two counts of hate crime and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. The DuPage County State’s Attorney confirmed the charges, emphasizing the seriousness of the case. The victim expressed his belief that the actions warranted significant legal consequences, noting that hate crime laws exist to address such behavior.
“If I did that to her, the book would be thrown at me, and I expect the same to her,” the victim said in a statement. He added that hate crimes are not excusable based on someone’s appearance or age but reflect their character and intentions.
Video Footage Highlights the Encounter
The video recorded by the victim’s wife played a critical role in documenting the incident. In the footage, the escalating tension and Stacy’s alleged actions are evident. The victim and his wife, both proud Palestinian-Americans, described feeling targeted and attacked for their heritage. They expressed disbelief that their peaceful outing could erupt into such a confrontation.
Panera Bread’s Response
In response to the incident, Panera Bread released a statement condemning the behavior and affirming their commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. “We are aware of the unfortunate incident that happened in our bakery cafe, and we are working with our team to look into this matter. Panera seeks to foster a warm and welcoming environment for all,” the statement read.
The company has not disclosed whether additional measures will be taken to address such incidents in the future. However, their acknowledgment of the event reflects a broader commitment to ensuring their establishments remain safe and welcoming spaces.
Legal Proceedings and Restrictions
Stacy was granted pretrial release following her arrest, with conditions prohibiting her from contacting the victims or visiting the Panera Bread location where the incident occurred. The case continues to develop, with prosecutors seeking accountability for what they described as a hate-fueled act.
Community Reaction and Broader Implications
The incident has sparked significant discussion within the local community and beyond. Hate crimes and bias-motivated actions have become a pressing issue in many parts of the country, and this case has reignited conversations about accountability and justice. Advocates have called for robust enforcement of hate crime laws to protect marginalized communities and ensure public safety.
The victim and his wife have stated they hope this case sets a precedent that hate crimes will not be tolerated. They emphasized the need for such incidents to be met with appropriate legal consequences to deter similar behavior in the future.
Conclusion
The charges against Alexandra Stacy highlight the importance of addressing hate crimes with seriousness and urgency. While the legal process is still ongoing, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges many face in striving for equality and respect in public spaces. As the community continues to grapple with the implications of this event, it underscores the need for greater awareness and action to combat hate-fueled behavior.
