Chicago Bears legend and Hall of Famer, Brian Urlacher has caused the Chicago Bears organization, former teammates and fans to distance themselves from him. He was a joy to watch for so many fans and all you heard about was how great of a guy he is and cared about ALL of his teammates.
What Urlacher has done lately on social media is not the Urlacher most Bears fans heard about or thought they knew. It has disappointed many involved with the team and fans who had thought of him as the greatest middle linebacker in Bears history.
Urlacher posted emojis that agreed with comments about kneeling during the anthem and leaving the country made by former Bears Coach Mike Ditka. His latest posts include comparing Favre playing on Monday Night Football to players not practicing in response to the shooting of Jacob Blake and he liked a photo saying free Kyle Rittenhouse, the white teen who shot three people, killing two of them during the protests in Kenosha. Fans, media and other players were shocked and felt betrayed by Urlacher.

A former teammate, Rashied Davis was on the Dan Bernstein Show on 670 The Score in Chicago and said that he reached out to Urlacher and they will be sitting down to talk about it. He wasn’t going to beat up on Brian, but he definitely feels betrayed and feels they need to talk about it and more importantly Brian needs to listen to him.

The Chicago Bears released the following statement to separate the team from Urlacher’s views.
“The social media posts in no way reflect the values or opinions of the Chicago Bears organization,” the team said in a statement issued on Thursday night.
Black people are some of the most forgiving people and so are Chicago sports fans. I am not sure how Urlacher will be able to come back from the views he has expressed, but his friends and former teammates are willing to listen and educate if necessary.
