PITTSBURGH, PAMusic with a mission takes center stage this fall as the Women Who Rock™ Benefit Concert, presented by Gibson Gives, returns to Stage AE in Pittsburgh on September 5—and this year, global music and fashion icon Jessica Simpson is set to headline.

Far more than just another night of music, this annual event is a rallying cry to close the critical gap in women’s health research. Despite making up more than half the population, women receive less than 10% of federal health research funding—a disparity the concert aims to change. Every ticket sold fuels life-saving research at Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI), the nation’s first and largest research center dedicated to women’s health across the lifespan.

Jessica Simpson: A Voice for Women on and off the Stage

Returning to her roots in music, Jessica Simpson brings more than her unmistakable voice—she brings a message of empowerment and resilience. Known for selling over 20 million albums, becoming a New York Times bestselling author (Open Book), and founding a $1B lifestyle brand, Simpson represents what it means to be a multifaceted woman breaking barriers. Her newest work, the Nashville Canyon EP, marks a soulful, roots-driven comeback with deep storytelling about heartbreak and personal renewal.

Fans can expect a dynamic set that bridges pop, rockabilly, and Americana—delivered with raw emotion and star power.

A Movement Backed by Music Legends

Gibson—one of the most iconic names in music—has supported the Women Who Rock™ mission from the start. Through its philanthropic arm, Gibson Gives, the brand has donated over $5.5 million and helped generate more than $52 million in funding for music education, wellness, and health causes.

“Women’s health continues to lag behind in funding and research,” says Michael Annichine, CEO of Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation. “Events like this bring not only awareness but real, measurable impact.”

WWR founder Melinda Colaizzi echoes that sentiment: “Music has always had the power to drive social change. We’re honored to have Jessica Simpson headline this year’s concert—she’s a powerhouse in every sense and a voice for resilience and reinvention.”

Beth Heidt, CMO at Gibson, adds: “We’re proud to stand with Women Who Rock and Magee-Womens Research Institute to champion the future of women’s health.”
