BMI STATEMENT ON KIM BURRELL
January 6, 2017 — BMI’s Trailblazers of Gospel Music is an annual celebration of gospel music and its many talented songwriters. Given the controversy surrounding this year’s co-honoree Kim Burrell, we have asked her to not take part in the ceremony in order to allow the focus to remain on the songwriters and their music. BMI was founded over 76 years ago with an open door policy to welcome songwriters across all genres, and that same spirit of tolerance, diversity and inclusiveness continues today.
Wow! It’s one thing for Ellen not to know where Kim Burrell was coming from but this coming from an entity that SHOULD recognize that what she said was biblical is disheartening!
Her words were true. But she should
not have called the guy out, preach on
it & have a private consultation with the
guy. God gave us free will, but yet there
are consequences. She might have lost
an opportunity to make a difference.
Unbelievable and unacceptable.
Kim told the truth. Blacks should support her and not let the white gay mafia destroy her. They call blacks Nigger and blamed them when the gay marriage petition failed in California. Those people are perverts, mentally ill and in need of shock treatment.
It is a shame, that when Pastors like Kim speak the truth they are not fully supported by the church. God will have the last word! I support you Kim! May God bless and continue to cover you.
She was not giving a speech but preaching a sermon according to the scriptures, the Holy Bible. The Church, the Christians should support her and not backlash her like Yolanda Adams and others. I say to Kim, keep preaching the word of God, call SIN, SIN and everything else will fall place. God is obligated to sell that million records no matter who cancel on you and not buy records. God’s is still in control no matter if the LGBT think they are.
