KMOX, America’s Sports Voice, Adds “Sports Hub”

CBS RADIO’S KMOX 1120 AM, play-by-play home of the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and Missouri Tigers is launching a new evening sports talk program “The Sports Hub””featuring St. Louis ‘ top sports talk talent.

KMOX already airs Sports Open Line, America ‘s longest running sports talk show, hosted by Kevin Wheeler from 6:00 ““ 9:00 p.m. New to the lineup is the KMOX “Sports Hub””which will air 9 p.m. ““ Midnight and can be heard on-air, online at www.kmox.com and through a variety of mobile devices including the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android, and Zune starting on Monday, January 31, 2011.

Chris Kerber, the radio voice of the Blues and Dan McLaughlin, television voice of the Cardinals will share hosting responsibilities. St. Louis radio personalities Mike Claiborne and Scott Warmann will join the KMOX team as co-hosts of the “Sports Hub””and will also host pre and post-game shows and contribute to KMOX.com.

KMOX Program Director Steve Moore said “With the addition of the St. Louis Cardinals play by play to our St. Louis Blues and Mizzou coverage, it was natural for the station to become more sports focused at night. Tom Ackerman and his team are the standard for Sports Talk in St. Louis and we are excited to be able to expand our coverage to give listeners consistent live sports talk and play by play at night”¦”

Chris Kerber has served as the Blues radio play-by-play announcer since 2000. He has been working pre-game and post-game shows on KMOX since the Blues return to the station in 2007.

Dan McLaughlin enters his 11th year as the play-by-play voice for Cardinals television broadcasts. McLaughlin also broadcasts college football and basketball games for ESPN, the University of Missouri men’s basketball team and the Missouri Valley Conference. McLaughlin began his broadcasting career in 1996 at KMOX.

Mike Claiborne, a 30 year market veteran, including ten years at KMOX, has done pre and post-game shows for the Blues, Rams and Cardinals over the years. Claiborne will continue his work as a member of the Cardinals Radio Network team and serve as co-host of “The Hot Stove League Show”.

Scott Warmann, who is entering his 17th year in the St. Louis market, is in his seventh season doing play-by-play for the Missouri Valley TV Network. Warmann also spent five seasons as a member of the St. Louis Rams broadcast team.

KMOX Sports Director Tom Ackerman said “The expanded roles for Chris Kerber and Dan McLaughlin along with the additions of Mike Claiborne and Scott Warmann to an already great sports staff, gives us the credible lineup KMOX listeners expect. We’re excited to expand our live and local sports coverage to 6p ““ Midnight every day.”

KMOX will continue to carry other sports talk programming include Sports on a Sunday with Ron Jacober, daily reports from Cardinals broadcasters Mike Shannon and John Rooney, the Davis Payne Show and Tiger Talk with Missouri head coach Mike Anderson.
