“Lilo & Stitch” Cast Celebrates ‘Ohana at World Premiere (Photos)

The cast and creative team behind Disney’s Lilo & Stitch gathered in Hollywood today to celebrate the upcoming release of the live-action reimagining of the beloved 2002 animated film. Held at the El Capitan Theatre, the event welcomed guests with Hawaiian-themed festivities, including hula dancers and a traditional Hawaiian protocol ceremony on the blue carpet before the daytime screening.

The film opens exclusively in theaters on May 23 and will be available in Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, Cinemark XD, 4DX, and other premium formats.

Attendees included cast members Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Chris Sanders, Kaipo Dudoit, and Amy Hill. They were joined by director Dean Fleischer Camp, screenwriters Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, producer Jonathan Eirich, executive producers Tom Peitzman, Ryan Halprin, and Louie Provost, composer Dan Romer, and soundtrack artists Iam Tongi, Nyjah Music, and Zyah Rhythm.

A heartwarming tale about family and connection, Lilo & Stitch tells the story of a spirited Hawaiian girl and the mischievous alien who helps her find belonging. Directed by Oscar® nominee Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), the film stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis, and introduces Maia Kealoha as Lilo. The film is produced by Jonathan Eirich, p.g.a., and Dan Lin, with executive producers Tom Peitzman, Ryan Halprin, Louie Provost, and Thomas Schumacher.
