Incident Overview
A man armed with guns, knives, and explosives returned to his former job at a car dealership in Commerce, demanding his position back. The man, identified as 36-year-old Dustin Humph, visited the Dodge and Chrysler Auto Gallery on Homer Road twice, each time escalating his threats and the number of weapons he brought with him.
First Encounter
On Saturday, Humph arrived at the dealership and threatened an employee, displaying a gun and challenging the employee to a fight. He left the scene before police arrived.
Second Incident
Humph returned to the dealership on Monday, this time with an SUV loaded with various weapons. According to the police, he had two firearms, baseball bats, knives, multiple masks, a homemade Molotov cocktail, and a revolver with a homemade suppressor. The employees noticed he was armed again and contacted the police immediately.
Police Intervention
Commerce police responded swiftly to the 911 call. They arrived at the dealership undetected by Humph and managed to apprehend him before he could reach any of the weapons in his vehicle. The general manager of the dealership expressed relief that no one was injured during the incident.
Charges and Detention
Humph was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of explosives. He is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail.
