(93.5 KDAY, 93.5 KDEY – Los Angeles) Meruelo Media’s SVP Audio Brands and Content Pio Ferro, promoted Matthew “DJ ECTO1” Hernandez as Assistant Programming Director for 93.5 KDAY-FM.
In this role, Matthew will oversee programming, research, marketing activities, music selection personnel management, FCC compliance, and promotional strategies. Matthew will also continue to closely collaborate with sister station Power 106 (105.9) KPWR-FM.
Hernandez said, “I grew up listening to KDAY and always dreamed of working here. It’s an honor and a huge responsibility to lead the first Hip-Hop radio station in America.
I am a huge fan of the original West Coast sound that was born on KDAY. I am proud to work with this amazing team and KDAY’s strong legacy and vision.”

Hernandez was previously the head of Hip-Hop and EDM programming for Dash Radio in Hollywood, California.
