Robert Williams, a 35-year-old rapper, tweeted “I got pardoned” pointing out that he had come a long distance.

Under a photo of the pardon on Instagram, the Philadelphia rapper-turned-entrepreneur, who has been active in criminal justice reform for years, vowed to keep doing more for his community.

Wolf signed his 369 final pardons this week. This adds to his Pennsylvania record for number of pardons since he assumed office in 2015. Williams was pardoned for drug and gun charges.

A 2008 trial found Williams guilty on drug and gun charges. He was sentenced to between one and two years in prison followed by 10 years probation.

Williams was sentenced to between two and four years imprisonment for violating probation in 2017. The judge cited a failed drug test, failure with an order restricting Williams’ travel, and two other unrelated arrests. The judge made the ruling, despite Williams being recommended not to be imprisoned by a probation officer and a prosecutor.

Williams was in prison for months before being released. A Pennsylvania appeals court revoked his conviction in 2019 after new evidence contradicted the credibility and credibility of the officer who arrested him. In a plea deal, he pleaded guilty in the next month to a misdemeanor firearm charge.
