Meruelo Media & Red Cross Partner for 2025 CA Wildfire Relief Efforts

Meruelo Media, the largest minority-owned single market specialty media cluster in Southern California, is partnering with the American Red Cross to support disaster relief efforts for those impacted by the 2025 California Wildfires.

Power 106, KLOS 95.5, CALI 93.9, and KDAY 93.5 are uniting to provide crucial assistance and help the community recover from the devastation. The American Red Cross, known for its trusted, stress-tested emergency response, plays a vital role in times of crisis when misinformation runs rampant.

Ongoing Coverage and Community Support:  As wildfires devastate the Los Angeles area, Meruelo Media has been delivering around-the-clock emergency coverage across all four stations, providing critical information to hard-to-reach communities, joining supply/meal distribution centers and ensuring public safety. From the outset of the crisis, Meruelo Media’s stations have served as a lifeline, offering timely updates and safety guidance with the most trusted voices in SoCal.

Pio Ferro, Head of Audio Brands at Meruelo Media, “This is what makes radio crucial, the ability to jump at a moment’s notice and deliver lifesaving info, point people towards safety, connect those who need help with those who are willing to help.  A trusted light during dark times.”

A Unique Call to Action for the Community: This massive, multi-front firestorm has forever altered the Los Angeles landscape, levelling an area more than twice the size of Manhattan. Thousands have lost their homes, and tragically, many lives have been lost in these fast-moving blazes. Officials have declared this three-front firestorm—the fourth worst disaster in California’s history—highlighting the unprecedented scale of devastation and the urgent need for relief.

Otto Padron, President of Meruelo Media, “In times of crisis, our deeply rooted local brands ensure that our priority communities receive the life support and right information to begin the healing needed to rebuild. When the power fails and the world goes dark—no electricity, no connection, no direction. In the silence, Radio is the voice that guides us through the firestorm.”

Meruelo Cares – A Legacy of Community Support:  Meruelo Media has a long history of mobilizing the community to support charitable causes, from blood drives to pet adoptions and fundraising efforts for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Their commitment to social responsibility continues with this vital partnership to aid California wildfire victims.

Alexis Meruelo, Chief Purpose and Vision Officer of the Meruelo Group, “Our hearts are with the communities and families affected by these devastating fires. Joining forces with the Red Cross to support relief efforts is our priority. This is the home we love, and together, we will rebuild #SOCALStrong”
