MIKE AND MECHELLE EPPS ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH OF THE
MICHAEL & MECHELLE EPPS FOUNDATION SUPPORTING AT-RISK YOUTH
DURING SUPER BOWL WEEKEND
Los Angeles, CA – January 31, 2012 ““ Mike and Mechelle Epps are celebrating the official launch of the Michael and Mechelle Epps Foundation, an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk youth nationwide. Philanthropists at heart, the Epps created the foundation in an effort to take a more hands-on approach to giving back to communities across the country.
The Michael and Mechelle Epps Foundation works to create the proper support group for children, helping them to become great adults. Using three unique initiatives including, enhancing after-school learning opportunities, creating programs focused on improving the quality of one’s life through promoting oneself, and expanding participation in the arts, culture and sports at home, in school and on an individual level, the foundation hopes to strengthen, expand, and enrich opportunities for young people between the ages of 10 and 21 in the Indianapolis area.
With the foundation’s initial focus on children in Mike’s home state of Indiana, where Mike has also been selected to serve as the official ambassador of the Super Bowl, Mike and Mechelle Epps will celebrate the launch with a private cocktail hour at the STYLE ICON Celebrity Luxury Lounge during Super Bowl XLVI weekend. Celebrities, VIP’s, and the Super Bowl elite are invited to join Mike and Mechelle for an evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to spread the word and help raise awareness for this wonderful cause. Furthermore, the morning of February 3rd the Epps’ will be visiting Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School to conduct a reading program with the school’s 6-9th graders. Mike and Mechelle will interact with the students on site to promote literacy. The Professional Football Players Mothers Association is slated to present a donation to the program and Scholastic, the global children’s publishing Company, will provide each of the students attending the event with a new book to take home.
Founders Mike and Mechelle Epps are a power couple who have been devoted to supporting various charities including, the Ronald McDonald House and Hoops for Hope L.A., before launching their own nonprofit organization.
