MOBY RICH PREMIERES VIDEO FOR LATEST SINGLE “LOSER” FEATURING CAMEO FROM JAY AND SILENT BOB
Today, buzzing alt-pop duo Moby Rich drops the video for their new single “Loser,” directed by Scottie Cameron and featuring a special cameo from the iconic Jay and Silent Bob—watch it HERE!
Of the video, Moby Rich says, “Shooting this video was one of the coolest experiences we have had as a band. This is the third video we’ve been able to do with our good friend Scottie Cameron, and he is literally our favorite person to make music videos with. His ideas always exceed our expectations and this one is no different. We also got to work with two of our heroes. Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes are some of the nicest and generous dudes that we’ve had the pleasure of working with. We grew up watching Clerks, Dogma, Mall Rats and all of their other wonderful creations. They walked onto set with zero ego and made some magic happen in the typical Jay and Silent Bob swagger. The video wouldn’t be the same without them.”
Quite fittingly, the song is featured in the latest installment of filmmaker Kevin Smith’s classic Jay and Silent Bob series, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, out now. Of working with the band, Kevin Smith says, “‘Loser’ is my anthem! Moby Rich sings my soul, and this video is visually delightful! So happy they included Jay and Silent Bob.”
The video premiered earlier today on Funny Or Die, who praises the video saying ““Loser” is the kind of clappy, hooky tune at which we challenge your face and earholes not to smile or at the very least get your feet tip tapping.”
Earlier this week, the duo wrapped their North American run with Matt Maeson on “The Day You Departed Tour.” They also teamed up with grandson on their new collaboration, “Happy Pill,” out now. “Loser” is the follow up to Moby Rich’s Songs We Didn’t Write released earlier this fall—featuring their own unique interpretations of Weezer’s iconic “Say It Ain’t So” and Lizzo’s chart-topping “Truth Hurts.”
