New York Legislators to Honor Teddy Riley & Others for 30 Years of New Jack Swing

April Robbins-Bobyn, CEO of ARB Consulting Group announces New Jack Swing founder and producer Teddy Riley along with R & B recording sensation Keith Sweat and Hip-Hop Legends Doug E Fresh and Kool Moe Dee will be honored for the 30-year contribution of the New Jack Swing sound to the music industry.

They will be recognized by NYS Senator Brian Benjamin, NYS Assemblywoman Inez Dickens, Congressman Adriano Espaillat, City Councilman Bill Perkins, Manhattan Boro President Gale Brewer, Mayor Bill de Blasio and HRH Queen Diambi Kabatusuila, of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa at the Apollo Theater located at 253 West 125th Street, Harlem on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 at 12pm.

For more than 30 years, GRAMMY Award-winning multi-platinum producer and music innovator Teddy Riley has embodied ingenuity as a recording artist, songwriter, producer, composer, arranger, engineer, music and a World music trailblazer. With over 1000 credits to his name, the music icon has amassed a host of awards and accolades over the years for his massive contributions to music, which include being credited with creating New Jack Swing, the groundbreaking genre that permeated musical categories including R&B, Hip-Hop, Gospel, Soul and Pop in the 80s and 90s.

Riley’s illustrious catalogue encompasses a massive list of timeless hits that he has composed, produced and/or written including for:  Michael Jackson (Dangerous), Guy (“Groove Me”, “Let’s Chill”, “I Like,” “Teddy’s Jam”); Johnny Kemp (“Just Got Paid”); Bobby Brown (My Prerogative); Heavy D (“Now that We Found Love”); High Five (“The Kissing Game”) The Winans (“It’s Time”).
