EVP/CFO Patrick Walsh Named Emmis COO/CFO – Rick Cummings to lead PPM Strategy

Emmis today announced that Patrick Walsh, EVP/Chief Financial Officer, has added the responsibility of Chief Operating Officer to his role and will now oversee all domestic radio. Rick Cummings, president of the radio division since 2002, will remain with Emmis and focus once again on his passion as President of Programming for Emmis Radio. Walsh, 41, will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer, a title he has held since September 2006. He was also appointed to Emmis’ Board of Directors. “Competing in today’s radio environment requires fresh perspectives,” Jeff Smulyan, Emmis Chairman and CEO said. “Pat will bring to our radio division what he’s learned about Emmis as CFO, but also his experience as an executive and consultant building growth businesses. Working with Rick Cummings and our managers, I’m confident Pat can provide the leadership necessary for Emmis to lead radio’s rebound.” “I look forward to working with Rick and our talented team to position Emmis Radio to be successful,” Walsh said. “I firmly believe Emmis Radio will be central to radio’s successful reinvention. Walsh came to Emmis from iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer and licenser of HD Radio technology, where he had served as CFO and Senior Vice President since 2002. Prior to joining iBiquity, Walsh was a management consultant for McKinsey & Company, one of the world’s top management consulting firms. His previous management experience includes positions at General Motors Acceptance Corporation and Deloitte & Touche LLP. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and finance from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School. CBS Radio, Clear Channel in radio station swap

CBS Radio, a unit of media company CBS Corp., said Monday it will swap five mid-size market radio stations for two of Clear Channel Communications Inc. large-market stations. The deal, which helps CBS in its attempt to concentrate primarily on large markets, satisfies some Department of Justice conditions related to Clear Channel’s acquisition by Thomas H. Lee Partners LP and Bain Capital Partners LLC Clear Channel was bought by Bain Capital Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners in July in a deal valued at $17.9 billion plus $5.9 billion in debt. As part of the transaction, Clear Channel will take CBS Radio’s Seattle, Baltimore and Sacramento, Calif., radio stations as well as two stations in Portland , Ore. CBS Radio will receive two stations in Houston.Shares of CBS added a penny to $8.21 in morning trading.

Blige (Entertainment), groundbreaking filmmaker Tyler Perry (Media), celebrated dancer and choreographer Judith Jamison (Education), businessman, philanthropist and basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson (Corporate Citizen), entrepreneur extraordinaire B. Smith (Entrepreneur), and the Honorable Congressman James E. Clyburn (Public Service). The second annual event will take place at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, January 17 and premiere on the network during
Black History Month on Monday, February 9 at 9:00 p.m.*
