OH NO: Caster Semenya, Woman who Rocked Athletics World is a Hermaphrodite
The Industry Dot Biz: Talk about humiliation and embarrassment. And after just doing a cover on a magazine where they glammed him/her up. Reports now indicate the athlete is a chick AND a dude! Wonder how the black church will explain this one? She really should sue the sh… out of the organization for humiliation. Part of this is her family’s fault. They knew. They should have given her the honor and the option to just step down without saying sh…. This is wrong on so many levels.
Sex tests carried out on Caster Semenya, the world 800 meters champion, show that she is a hermaphrodite, a source close to the case claimed tonight. Test allegedly indicate she has no uterus or female reproductive organs but that she has both male and female sex organs.
If the allegation is backed up by the results, the South African may well find herself stripped of her gold medal and banned from racing. The IAAF, the world governing body, refused to comment on the claim tonight, but earlier in the day its general secretary, Pierre Weiss, said: “It is clear that she is a woman but maybe not 100 per cent.” Leonard Chuene, the president of Athletics South Africa (ASA), which has been vocal in its criticism of the IAAF, said: “We cannot get involved in gossip of this sort. Our people will speak to Caster and ensure that she puts these rumours from her mind.”
The situation is extremely delicate because of a lack of precedents and Semenya’s high profile in South Africa. The African National Congress Youth League has already accused the IAAF of racism, while Mr Chuene has resigned from the IAAF Council in protest. The source told the Australian Daily Telegraph: “There certainly is evidence Semenya is a hermaphrodite, but the trouble is the IAAF now have the whole ANC and the whole of South Africa on their backs. Everything is going to have to be done absolutely by the book, no question of a challenge to our findings.”
The ill feeling between the IAAF and ASA has been festering since the story broke on the day of Semenya’s final three weeks ago.
The IAAF claim gender verification tests were done in South Africa when their attention was drawn to her huge improvement at the Africa Junior Championships in Mauritius in July. ASA denies these tests took place and that the only tests were done by the IAAF during the World Championships in Berlin.

Janet Jackson hasn’t watched television since her brother Michael died suddenly in Los Angeles on June 25. She has blocked herself off completely from the hysterical media coverage of his death “” who did it, what did it. “It will drive you crazy,” she says. “People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, How’s Obama doing? I haven’t read a newspaper. On top of that, [we’ve lost] a family member.”
The last time Janet saw Michael was on May 14, two days before her 43rd birthday. The reality of Beck’s attacks on Van
After we launched this campaign, some bloggers and reporters tried to discredit the effort by claiming that the White House or Van was somehow involved, or that we launched the campaign to protect Van. It’s an absurd accusation. Van hasn’t worked with ColorOfChange in years, and when we decided to launch the campaign we didn’t even know that Beck had attacked him. The reality is that we began our campaign for the same reason 175,000 of you have now joined it: Glenn Beck called the president of the United States a “racist” who “has a deep seated hatred for White people,” which is part of a pattern of Beck using lies and distortions to race-bait and fear-monger.
As Beck started losing advertisers in response to our campaign, he went into full-scale attack mode on Van–exaggerating or distorting his record on 23 shows and devoting an entire segment to discrediting him. Beck presented his attacks on Van as honest journalistic inquiry, while dishonestly failing to mention that Van co-founded the group leading a successful advertiser boycott against him.
But Beck’s real goals were clear: Take down Van. Undermine the White House. Set the stage for his followers to say our campaign was about protecting Van. And of course, create a distraction from our campaign and the real reasons major companies are ditching Beck’s show.
The problem with Beck
Glenn Beck’s show is described as news analysis and commentary, and he claims to be bringing his viewers “the facts”; but his attacks on the President’s character, agenda and advisers are anything but news. They are political character assassination of the worst form, relying on dishonesty, distortion, exaggeration, and fear. And Beck has promised to launch more attacks on new targets.3 Our country is facing numerous challenges, including a struggling economy, a climate and energy crisis, and a broken health care system. The media should be promoting thoughtful, rational dialogue about how to solve these problems, not launching dishonest political attacks to distract and divide us.
Our team is working hard to use all the tools at our disposal to take away Beck’s platform. In the coming weeks there will be more for you to do. But for now, we ask you to do something simple. Huffington Post Makes Great Point on Glenn Beck’s Campaign to smear Van Jones

Thank you, Glenn Beck. By helping force the resignation of Van Jones, you have done a great service to your country. But in the exact opposite way than what you intended. Your vile and vicious smear campaign has helped reverse one of the worst examples of miscasting since John Wayne took on the role of Genghis Khan in The Conqueror. Don’t get me wrong: Van Jones was the best person for the job he just gave up. But the job was not the best use of Van Jones.
Contrary to the media caricature, the real Van Jones is a thoughtful leader who knows how to use words to move people to action. To stick him behind a desk, working out the details of tax credits for green jobs — incredibly important though the job is — was never the best use of his unique and abundant skills. Industry Vet Skip Miller has Died
The Industry Dot Biz: Another great industry veteran has passed. Alvin “Skip” Miller, 61, died yesterday (Friday) of a heart attack while in the hospital at Cedars Sinai Hospital. Miller was most recently running his own company Pand a Entertainment Group which is a talent management company specializing in artist development, music consulting and production. Miller is the former president of Motown Record Corporation and exec VP at RCA Records Label. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Project Angel Food or the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurosurgical Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center headed by Dr. Keith Black at www.cedars-sinai.edu

The Industry Dot Biz: Steve Harvey is in the news again. Is this program for the many true urban radio people who are out of work because of his show (laugh). I mean really. Steve Harvey talks Kmart Layaway Program? I bet he won’t let anybody put his book on lay-a-way (laugh, I’m on a roll this morning).
Nationally-acclaimed comic-actor Steve Harvey recently was on-hand live and in living color in Chicago, holding court as part of a special back-to-school rally sponsored by Kmart, in partnership with Clear Channel Radio. Harvey, along with representatives of Kmart, V-103-FM , WGCI-FM and Inspiration 1390 WGRB Radio stations, made a special appearance and conducted a live radio remote where he discussed the availability and efficiency of the Kmart Layaway Program both for back-to-school and holiday season shopping and saving. A New York Times best-selling author and host of radio’s nationally-syndicated “Steve Harvey Morning Show,” Harvey (left) is pictured above with Nydia J.
