The Mega Millions winning numbers have garnered no jackpot winner and have now climbed to over 1 billion dollars. This coming Friday’s drawing will be the 2nd highest in the history of Mega Millions.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were 7 – 29 – 60 – 63 – 66 Mega Ball: 15 and no ticket matched all the numbers. Nobody has won the grand prize in 3 months and there have been 29 consecutive drawings in the process
Even without a big winner, there still are a few ticket buyers who will be a bit richer after yesterday’s drawing. According to Lottery officials, nine tickets were sold that matched five of the six winning numbers and each is worth at least $1 million or more. One of those tickets sold in Ohio with the megaplier option is worth $3 million.
What’s the Megaplier?
Most states offer the Megaplier feature, which increases non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four and five times.
It costs an additional $1 per play. Before each regular Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier is drawn. From a pool of 15 balls, five are marked with “2X,” three with “4X” and one with “5X.”
In the California lottery system, a ticket sold in Baker, CA with five matching numbers will have a payout of just under 3 million. California uses a pari-mutuel system with payouts that vary from those in other states.
What was the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever?
In 2018, one winning ticket in South Carolina sold for a $1.537 billion grand prize, which was the world’s largest lottery prize ever won on a single ticket.
In January 2021, a winning ticket was sold in Michigan for $1.05 billion.
Seven Other Winners for the Most Recent Drawing
The seven other tickets are believed to be worth an estimated $1 million each. They were sold in Illinois, Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, and New York.
Mega Millions drawings are Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
