OBAMA CARES? (Speaking of the Affordable Care Act…)
By Darryl Littleton
The Affordable Care Act went into effect October 1st. As threatened, the government shut down. Thousands of federal employees are discovering that if they wanted to be paid during times of crisis they should’ve run for office. The US is failing to pay its debts so why shouldn’t its citizens be in the same boat? That’s how to unify us as a nation – make us all deadbeats. Well, actually not all. Congress people will keep getting paid even though this is their fault. The blame is going to the Republican team, but not everybody is on the knucklehead squad. John McCain and a few other stalwart elephant men were against the shutdown.
They think it’s disastrous. They wanted to see the Army / Navy game. Then again these are politicians who remember the days when being a Republican didn’t automatically mean you were a racist. You were under suspicion, but innocent until proven prejudice. These are lawmakers who talked ideological crap to each other all day and then went carousing and whore mongering together all night. So these are men who are used to the American way to doing the people’s business. No, this new method of one-foot-up-the-butt-the–other-in-the-mouth is the work of zealots like John “Boner” Boehner, Mitch “Anybody Seen-My-Chin” McConnell and Ted “How-Dare-You-Be-A-Racist-When-You’re-Mexican” Cruz. This trio will go down in history as the architects of the dismantling of the GOP. And we all thought Sarah Palin was an idiot. These clowns can’t admit that it’s over.
They want a law that the Supreme Court (which they hold sway with their majority) upheld to be dismantled like it never happened. Shut down the website. Return the premiums. Cancel your appointment with your doctor. The Republicans made the president cave. Fat chance fools. For most of us the world didn’t come to an end. We didn’t all die. Everything dire, doomsday scenario hasn’t happened. We still get most of the services the government provides us with: the military is still there to protect us (because they’re still getting paid thanks to a bill signed by Obama fairly recently) and there are still plenty of drugs on the streets for all to enjoy.
So overall we’re fine. Operations at the EPA and NASA are stalled, but since I wasn’t going into outer space any time soon – I’m cool with that. I’m sure if I did go I’d find an alien race just as opposed to black people as here on Earth. So like I said I’m cool with thatOur government is shut down because the GOP ran House’s hatred of the universal health care law known as Obamacare. However, their disdain is not for humanitarian reasons. Sure, the act has a few glitches. Yes, yes, okay – we’re trying to kill off old people.
Nature’s taking too long and they’re living to be too old. It’s nothing personal, but they whine too much, smell funny and drive too slow. We’re tired of hearing about the good old days that for most people back then stunk. Screw their glorification of people that were only great because of their lack of competition (yes Babe Ruth I’m talking about you) and all that Black and White imagery.
Screw telling us how good TV was back then when it went off at 2:00am just when we’re coming home from partying. And screw that mentality of “I-Never-Thought-I’d-Live-to-See”. You show me somebody still believing in shit that was disproven a long time ago and I’ll show you an old fart that needs to pull a Redd Foxx and go join ElizabethOf course the Affordable Care Act is not affordable.
Since when did the government know a good financial deal? They’re the worst ran business in the country, but that’s beside the point. This is for people that wouldn’t normally get insurance anywhere else. Well, maybe there’s a reason for that. Maybe these uninsurable folks are bad risks (like old people). Perhaps no medical facility in their right mind would pay off the claims. Well, have no fear because they won’t.
People will be strutting around with their Obamacare card tucked neatly away in their pockets only to find out their pockets are worth more. Read the fine print with a telescope. You know if it wasn’t for the need to raise the debt ceiling this issue would be mute. They tried to make it a topic of the election and the 47% added a few friends and trounced the Obamacare opposing Mitt Romney and his sidekick, Ryan, the Boy Blunder. To quote a reinvented pugilist, it’s ludicrous, but I do like that concept of a debt ceiling. I wish I could raise my debt ceiling. I’m sure most of us do. When my creditors come a calling my only options are hang up or curse them out. Man, that raised debt ceiling would be nice.
Anyway, the thing to understand is this has little to do with the law itself. Had it remained known as the Affordable Care Act the Republicans probably would’ve let it slide. There was something about it being called Obamacare that riled their pinheaded blood. See, not only does the GOP hate president Obama because he’s a Democrat. There’s a faction of the party (Tea, in nature), that also don’t care for him because he’s black.
I know that comes as a shock to many of you, but just stay with me on this. They wanted to “take America back”. And do what – return it to the Indians? This man has been called every kind of monkey except the kind that played with Davey, Mike, Peter and Mickey. So they simply can’t allow universal health care to become this “soul brother’s” legacy. Okay, he ordered the murder of Osama bin Laden, our sworn enemy.
Kaddafi got killed on his watch. Top heads of al Qaeda have perilegacy. He’s a killer. Does that surprise anybody? Naturally he’s a killer. He’s a savage from Kenya. And in these uncertain times that’s what we need. The GOP understands that and in no way would deny him that place in history, but no way he is going to get credit for saving lives. How can the Republicans, in good conscience, let Obama reap this type of reputation?
George Washington was the greatest president this country ever had. Do we have Washingtoncare? How about a Lincolncare or a Reagancare? No! Not even a Kennedycare, Ted, that is. So, no to Obamacare. Even though it’s a law – so what? Even though it’s already underway and people have signed up for it – big deal.
They want it defunded even though they have no alternative. This spook for Harvard is not going to outsmart these mid-Western hicks. No way.Thing is, no matter how it all plays out Barack Obama will still get a presidential library. He’s earned that right as a United States president. If they gave it to Bush they have to give it to him. And look the Bush Library it will be filled with the things that show his greatest achievements. It will be opulent. It will be pristine. It will be a monument befitting a former holder of the highest office in the land. And because that office holder was black it will be on Martin Luther King Boulevard (the worst street in any city).
