High-Ranking Officer Suspended
A high-ranking officer from the Royal Bahamas Police Force has been suspended amid the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of a Chicago woman. The suspension is related to a concerning voice note circulating on social media, raising questions about the integrity of the investigation.
Details of the Disappearance
The missing woman, 41-year-old Cassie Taylor, was last seen on June 19th while attending a yoga retreat in the Bahamas. On June 22nd, a search dog picked up a scent from her tent leading to the water, but the trail ended there. Two days later, her phone was found submerged under 50 feet of water.
Ongoing Investigation
Despite the suspension, the Royal Bahamas Police Force assures that the investigation is being vigorously pursued. Technology is being used to search the area where the phone was found, although results are not expected immediately.
Related Missing Person Case
In addition to Cassie Taylor’s case, the police are investigating another missing person’s case involving a 17-year-old who disappeared over seven weeks ago. There is no indication from investigators that the two cases are connected.
Family’s Response
Cassie Taylor’s mother, Colette Seymour, has been in contact with both the police and US Embassy leadership. She is now requesting that the FBI take over the search for her daughter. The investigation continues, with updates expected as new information arises.
