OH NO: Coolio Contradicts His Own Content

I will admit, I watched Coolio’s show on Oxygen a couple of times. In several episodes, he was extremely concerned about losing his son “to the streets” and all of its ills. Now, Coolio himself is in deep sh… for possession of cocaine?

The man behind “Gangsta’s Paradise” could soon be land ing in Gangsta’s Hell — the big house.

Rapper Coolio was officially charged with cocaine possession and battery Tuesday in California after he was arrested last week at Los Angeles International Airport, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The “Gangsta’s Paradise” artist, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., was taken into LAPD custody Friday at LAX’s Terminal 1 after officials searched through his luggage and found cocaine. Coolio grabbed an officer’s arm in an attempt to prevent the search of his belongings, police said, which led to the battery charge.

Coolio, 45, is facing one felony charge – possession of cocaine base – and two misdemeanor charges, one for battery and one for possession of a smoking device. If he’s convicted of the charges at his April 3 arraignment, Coolio could face up to 3 years in state prison.
