The director of the Boys and Girls Club of Vineland claims local radio personality Brian “Corky” Warren, a Pittsgrove Township resident, stiffed the organization for more than $2,000.Chris Volker, executive director for the non-profit, filed papers in small clams court last year in Salem County in an attempt to recoup money that Warren, a former WVLT Cruisin 92.1 radio host, allegedly told the Boys and Girls Club he would pay them to supply entertainment for a charity event last spring.”It was agreed that Corky Warren would pay for Jerry Blavat (a Philadelphia radio personality) if we celebrated Corky’s birthday and honored him at the event with a roast,” Volker said Friday.Volker said the event went off without a hitch, but the Boys and Girls Club was never paid more than a $500 deposit from Warren for Blavat’s appearance. Volker claimed Warren wrote a check for the balance due, but stopped payment on that check.”We had to pay $2,100 out of our own pockets. This was a fund-raiser for kids,” he said.Group says radio host owes them money – NJ.com.
