Operation: Cozy calls on Detroit to donate winter clothes for those in need (Video)

**Detroit Prepares for ‘Operation: Cozy’ Winter Clothing Drive**

Detroit, MI — As the chilly winter months approach, the community is rallying together for a noble cause. Operation: Cozy, a winter clothing drive, is set to take place on November 12, 2025, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kadesh Baptist Church on Plymouth Road. Organized by Local 4 in collaboration with the Center for Youth and Families, this event is calling on Detroit residents to bring warmth to those in need.

With winter temperatures dropping, the need for warm clothing has never been more pressing. Operation: Cozy aims to collect new or gently used winter essentials, including coats, hats, scarves, and gloves, to help keep Detroit’s vulnerable populations warm during the frigid months.

“We believe everyone deserves to feel warm and cared for during winter,” said a representative from Local 4. “Operation: Cozy is a community effort, and we invite everyone to come together to support our neighbors in need.”

The drive is not only an opportunity to donate much-needed items but also a chance for the community to connect. Volunteers are encouraged to lend a hand, sorting and distributing collected items throughout the day. Organizers stress that every little bit helps, whether it’s a single pair of gloves or a winter coat.

Those looking to donate can drop off their items at the Kadesh Baptist Church location, where they will be graciously received. Story highlights of the event will be shared across Local 4’s platforms, emphasizing the heart of Detroit’s community spirit.

For more information on how to get involved or to volunteer, visit the Local 4 website. Together, let’s make this winter a little cozier for everyone in Detroit.
