**Operation: Cozy: Winter Clothing Drive Set to Warm Detroiters in Need**
DETROIT – As winter marches in and temperatures begin to dip, the community is rallying around a heartfelt initiative designed to keep its most vulnerable residents warm. Operation: Cozy, a winter clothing drive, is set for November 12, 2025, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kadesh Baptist Church on Plymouth Road.
The event, organized by Local 4 in collaboration with the Center For Youth and Families, aims to collect an array of donations that include new or gently-used winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. These items will be distributed to families and individuals who may struggle to afford adequate winter gear.
“In a city known for its resilience, it’s essential we band together to support our neighbors in need,” said Roberta James, a volunteer coordinator with Local 4. “Everyone deserves to feel warm and protected from the harsh winter elements. We’re encouraging everyone to dig into their closets or buy a new item to donate.”
