TheIndustry.biz is sad to report the death of the owner of the Detroit Lions, William Clay For. Ford died from pneumonia at the age of 88. William Clay Ford truly represented the last of legacy as the last surviving grandson of Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford. Detroit Lions team president Tom Lewand released a statement on the team’s behalf, “It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Mr. Ford and extend our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Ford and to the entire Ford family. No owner loved his team more than Mr. Ford loved the Lions.” Ford has owned the Lions since November 1963.
