Multi-award-winning Civil Rights Attorney, and Child Advocate, Areva Martin, along with Special Needs Network (SNN), is pleased to announce the 16th annual extravaganza – A Pink Pump Affair – which will start at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Beverly Wilshire | A Four Seasons Hotel. The upcoming charity event will pay tribute to remarkable women who have made significant contributions in Southern California.
The attendees will be dressed in pink attire and include hundreds of professional and influential women from various areas of business, government, media, and entertainment.
The event will feature a champagne reception, a live auction, a fashion show, and the presentation of Women of Distinction awards. The recipients of the Women of Distinction awards will be announced soon.
The event will be hosted by Pat Harvey, an iconic local news anchor, and nationally-renowned broadcast news anchor from CBS 2 & KCAL 9 News, while Kym Whitley, an award-winning comedian and actress, will serve as the celebrity auctioneer.
Past recipients of the Women of Distinction awards include Vice President Kamala Harris, Angela Bassett, Jenifer Lewis, Alfre Woodard, Loretta Devine, Niecy Nash, Holly Robinson Peete, Salli Richardson, Tisha Campbell, and Senator Barbara Boxer.
All proceeds from A Pink Pump Affair will support the newly opened landmark Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities (C.A.D.D.) on the campus of the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital.
