Police Investigate Deadly Shooting in Frayser

FRAYSER, TN — A community is grappling with grief after a tragic shooting left one man dead and another injured in Frayser on Tuesday night. Police received reports of gunfire around 9:30 PM near the intersection of Second Street and Thomas Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The deceased, identified as 24-year-old Marcus Lee, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second victim, a 22-year-old male whose identity is yet to be released, was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Eyewitnesses described hearing a flurry of gunfire, followed by chaotic scenes as first responders worked to save the injured.
“This is a tight-knit community, and something like this is shocking,” said resident Tanya Richards, who lives just blocks from the shooting. “We have to come together to address the violence affecting our neighborhoods.”
Officials are canvassing the area for surveillance footage and witnesses to gain insights into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Preliminary reports suggest there may have been an altercation leading up to the violence, but police have not confirmed any details regarding suspects or motives at this time.
