Beasley Media Group's Power 98 to Host 28 Hour Broadcast to Benefit Salvation Army
No Limit Larry and the Morning Maddhouse on WPEG Power 98 will host a special 28- hour radiothon to raise funds for
The Salvation Army's summer overflow shelter for women and children. The event will take place at 6am on Thursday, June 7th at 534 Spratt Street in Charlotte.
Personalities of the Power 98's Morning Madhouse will broadcast live and sleep in vehicles on the grounds of the Salvation Army as part of their commitment to raise funds for the shelter.
Last year, the morning show raised $30,000 for Center of Hope. No Limit Larry and the Morning Maddhouse will be accepting donations online at power98fm.com, as well as collecting toiletries, diapers, and gift cards on-site at the event. They will wrap up their fundraising effort Friday morning with the conclusion of the broadcast at 10a.m.
Activities during the 28-hour broadcast will include a beauty bar for the residents and a cheerleading clinic for the young girls.
“Last year's was extremely successful and we're excited to be doing this for the 12th year! It's a great opportunity for us to use our platform to help those in need,” said No Limit Larry.
The Salvation Army helps homeless women and children in the community with their immediate needs of shelter, food, and social services. Referred to as the ‘Center of Hope', the facility houses a Boys and Girls club and a free on-site medical clinic.
