Round Hill Music, a full-service creative rights management company with a core focus on music publishing, is excited to officially announce two new additions to their team, Steve Nalbert, Senior Manager of Creative & Licensing, and Britnie Stingelin, Royalty Administrator. Steve Nalbert joins Round Hill Music after spending the past five years of his career at Cherry Lane Music Publishing and BMG Rights Management, where he gained experience in diverse roles. At Round Hill, his focus will be on synch licensing and pitching the catalog, as well as working with the company’s sub-publishing partners.
“You know, there’s just not that many music companies out there that are like Round Hill Music. The attention to detail that is provided to its clients is unsurpassed and ultimately comes from the passionate people that work behind the name. ” says Nalbert.
“Round Hill adds a personal touch along with business practices that foster this sort of family environment that makes working with music truly enjoyable. I’m honored to join such an amazing team with an integrated mission statement that puts the songwriter and artist first. Nalbert’s stay at BMG involved some of the company’s largest growth through the purchase and integration of such publishers as Cherry Lane, Evergreen Copyrights, Stage Three Music, Chrysalis Music Group, Bug Music and R2M.
While there, Nalbert worked with an extensive range of artists, writers, and catalogs that span from Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, John Denver, and Billy Idol to the likes of Kings of Leon, Delta Spirit, Tame Impala, Spoon, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and My Morning Jacket (just to name a few). Beyond music publishing, Nalbert has also been a music supervisor, plays the guitar and mandolin, and composes and enjoys collaborating whenever possible. He graduated with a BA in Music Business from SUNY Oneonta and started off his career at ascap.
Also joining the team with a history at ascap is Britnie Stingelin. During her three years there, Stingelin was an analyst in the Quality Assurance and Television departments, and was responsible for calculating adjustments based on performance and copyright changes and interpreting data for statistical reporting across various platforms of distribution. Stingelin is thrilled to be a part of the Round Hill Music team.
“I quite often find that you can be easily pigeon-holed and put in a box when working in the music industry. Working at Round Hill Music is the exact opposite of that,” reveals Stingelin about her new position. “It’s a great and refreshing feeling to come into work everyday where you can have an opinion, people are full of ideas, and everyone here comes from all sorts of backgrounds and fields of music.
Everyone has a fascinating life story and is truly passionate no matter what aspect of music they’re involved with. ” Stingelin attended Berklee College of Music where she earned a BA in Music Business and Management and ran Berklee’s record label, Heavy Rotation Records. “It’s about what they bring to the Round Hill Music table, including being music people with degrees in music that make them fit the RHM family and philosophy,” says Michael Lau, Chief Operating Officer of Round Hill Music, about the new hires.
“Their previous work experience prepared them for their role at Round Hill, but they also get what we do here. They understand the music industry on a personal, meaningful level – as musicians and as passionate fans of music. It’s not just a job title.
” Round Hill Music is a music publishing company that not only chooses its clients and roster with care and purpose, but its team and representatives as well.
