Time Out New York declared SAY ANYTHING “uncommonly innovative,” while Spin described it as “clever” earnest” lyrical jujitsu.” Of their most recent NY show, Rob Harvilla of the Village Voice gushed:” I love this band and feel ridiculous about it. They’re still capable of ludicrous, shameless, mega-emo transcendence.”

Exploding onto the music scene, Say Anything released their 2004 Doghouse Records debut “Is A Real Boy, which told the ultimate coming-of-age story in a swirling storm of sex, drugs, angst, and gut-wrenchingly honest rock & roll.
In 2005, Say Anything signed with RCA Music Group, which re-released “¦Is A Real Boy with a bonus CD entitled “¦Was A Real Boy (2006), and their critically-acclaimed sophomore double-disc album In Defense of the Genre soon followed in 2007.
