Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College (SSCC) and The University of Alabama (UA) will host two virtual “College Knowledge” sessions on Monday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. Participants may register by visiting 2020 College Knowledge.
All Tuscaloosa area 9th-12th graders, parents, and family members are invited to learn about the search and application process from college professionals. Attendees will discover tips and tricks about admissions, scholarship opportunities, and general university information.
“This program will be beneficial to the students and families in the Tuscaloosa area by providing information on the college search process, applying to colleges, college options, cost and financial aid, and more,” said Brittnay W. McMillian, UA’s Assistant Director of In-State Recruitment. “By educating and informing the community of these important aspects of the college search process, we hope to drive applications and enrollment at both The University of Alabama and Shelton State Community College.”
“The selection of a college is one of the most important decisions students will make, and it is also an exciting opportunity for them to think about their futures,” noted Tennyson Smith, Shelton State’s Director of Recruitment. “The partnership between our two institutions exhibits our commitment to all students, and we look forward to being continued resources for our community.”
