Kizart, founder and managing director of Kizart Media Partners, Inc., has been re-appointed to serve on the FCC’s re-chartered Federal Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Digital Age. The new invitation to continue to serve on the committee came from the Honorable Julius Genachowski, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The Diversity Committee gives recommendations to the FCC regarding policies and practices that will further enhance diversity in the industries the commission regulates.The Diversity Committee focuses on creating an environment that enables employment of a diverse workforce in the media, telecommunications and related fields; exploring ways to ensure universal access to broadband; and establishing the widest possible dissemination of information from diverse media sources. Sherman Kizart will be joining other members on the committee including representatives from CBS-TV, the National Association of Broadcasters, and the National Hispanic Media Coalition.Kizart Media Partners, Inc. (KMP, Inc.) is a national media sales and marketing consulting firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Sherman Kizart was selected for the appointment based upon his experience in the media and telecom industry. He serves as an Black sales and marketing expert to some of the leading advocacy organizations in the U.S. Prior to founding KMP, Inc., Kizart worked for Interep, Inc. as senior vice president and director of Black radio. Kizart Media Partners annually hosts the Power of Urban Radio Forum in partnership with the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters in Washington DC. The 13th annual forum will be held in the fall of 2013. Executives responsible for planning and placing more than $50 Billion in measured media attend the event including advertising agency media directors, global media agency planners, and chief marketing officers of major corporations.Kizart has received numerous awards and honors for his expert wisdom and vision in the industry. Kizart is the Chairman of RADIO INK Magazine’s Urban Advisory Council, and is seated on the Board of Visitors at the Howard University John H. Johnson School of Communications. He was awarded the radio industry’s highest recognition, the Radio Wayne Award. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, and has additionally been appointed Director of Development for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
